Contact Lens Exams With Your Somerset, NJ Optometrist
Our optometrist at Franklin Family Eyecare, serving Bound Brook, Hillsborough and Somerset, NJ offers contact lens exams for those with refractive errors. Common eye problems that can be corrected with contact lenses include astigmatism, nearsightedness, farsightedness and presbyopia. We can even fit contact lenses for people who have GPC, keratoconus and dry eye with our hard-to-fit contact lens services.
Benefits of Contacts
If you are debating between scheduling a contact lens appointment or a regular glasses appointment, you may want to consider a few of the benefits of contacts. Contact lenses offer a full range of view because the lens moves with your eye. Contact lenses are also not susceptible to getting wet or fogging due to the weather, and they often work better for playing sports and exercising.
Your Contact Lens Exam with our Somerset NJ Optometrist
Your contact lens exam with our Somerset NJ optometrist will consist of a comprehensive eye exam and a contact lens fitting. The comprehensive part of the exam consists of evaluating your eye health and checking for common eye diseases, including glaucoma and dry eye. Next, we will test your near and distance vision via a Snellen eye chart, which is simply a chart with various sizes of letters that are either projected at a distance or held close to your eyes.
Once the comprehensive portion is complete, our optometrist will test a set of sample lenses in your eyes. The sample lenses help us ensure that you get a comfortable and snug fit. If your eyes are hard-to-fit, the fitting process may take slightly longer, but our eye doctor is dedicated to helping you find the right lenses for your eyes, even if you have dry eye, a severe astigmatism, presbyopia or keratoconus. If you need glasses, our eye doctor can write prescriptions for both glasses and contact lenses at the end of your appointment.
